Hawthorn English Language School - Melbourne
Orientation
You will receive a comprehensive orientation on arrival at Hawthorn-Melbourne. This is taken in two steps. The first step is Registration Day, which usually takes place on the Thursday before classes commence. On Registration Day, you are tested and interviewed by teaching staff. This establishes your level of English and ensures placement into a suitable class. Following testing and registration, an information session on homestay explains your rights and responsibilities when living with a host family.

On the second day of Orientation, you’ll meet academic and administrative staff and be given a series of briefings to assist with your transition to living in Melbourne and studying at Hawthorn. These briefings include information provided by the Director of Studies, the Facilities Manager, the Manager of Student Services, the Further Studies Advisor, the Counsellor and the SCOPE Coordinator. After lunch, teaching staff will take you on a tour of the campus, explain the  facilities and services available at Hawthorn and  answer any questions you may have.
