In 'share accommodation' you live in an Australian home but you are more independent. You pay rent for your room, pay a share of the bills (gas, electricity, telephone and internet), buy your own food and do your own cooking.

Single rooms generally cost $90 – $150. Sometimes bills are included in the rent but most often, they are not. The Accommodation Office has a noticeboard displaying advertisements for share accommodation which students can independently visit and decide on.

Note: The Accommodation Office staff do not interview people who offer share accommodation. Hawthorn-Melbourne staff cannot organise share accommodation for students before or after arrival.
